A partial upgrade is the act of upgrading some of the licenses on a subscription to a higher SKU. For example if a customer has Business Basic and you had 10 licenses on the subscription currently you would be able to use this method to upgrade up to 9 of them to Business Standard, Business Premium or a Higher. If you want to upgrade all licenses on the subscription please refer to our other article on upgrading NCE Subscriptions: https://kb.infinigate.cloud/en-us/knowledgebase/article/KA-01042

Warning: When using the partial upgrade option it is only possible to upgrade the license to a subscription of a higher tier, You cannot use this to downgrade the licenses to a lower tier subscription. The customer will be unable to revert back to the previous plan, even if they were to change their mind within the 7-day period.

Please follow the below steps to partially upgrade a subscription:

Note: This will still need to be the same Billing Term and Plan duration as the existing subscription.

Once you have selected the existing plan you will then be asked to select whether this will be a new subscription or if you have an eligible subscription already whether you would like to move the licenses into an existing subscription.

Note: To be considered Eligible the existing subscription must have the same Billing Term and Plan Duration as the current subscription and the renewal date must either be the same as the existing subscription or later. It cannot be moved into an existing subscription with an earlier end date as Microsoft considers this as a downgrade.

Once you have selected the subscription you will need to select the quantity. This subscription on 1 license and is being moved to a new subscription.

Note: If you are moving it to the existing subscription you will need to select the quantity as the current number of licenses Plus the amount you are upgrading into it.

You will then see the total number being upgrade in the refund line under the plan it is coming from.

At the bottom you will then see a breakdown of the cost. You will see:

Total Fees: Total for the new order

Tax Total: How much of that is VAT

Refund: How much you are being refunded for the previous license/s

Total: New total after the refund from the license/s being reduced

Once you are happy with this please click next and then place order. This will then go ahead and process the changes for you.
